Day 8 of the Basketball World Cup and we have four big matches to consider with a couple of the favourites going at it to finish the evening.
Australia take on the Dominican Republic to kick off proceedings, and Brazil will have their hands full against an impressive Czech Republic team.
A battle between two European Heavyweights sees France take on Lithuania, and Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Greek team will take on the star-studded USA Team.
Another big day of hoops and a couple of potential upsets on the cards.

Australia vs Dominican Republic
Prediction – Australia (Win)

The Aussies come into this match full of confidence after an 87-82 win over the fancied Lithuanian team. Patty Mills was instrumental for the Aussie’s with 23 Points, and Aron Baynes was a handful with 21 Points and 13 Rebounds.
The Dominican was no match for France and only shot the ball at 28% from the floor.
The Australian’s should have no problems in this game, but that was predicted against Senegal, and Senegal hung around the whole game.
Expect the Australian team to crank up the defence, and the Game Total is favoured to go under.
Brazil vs Czech Republic
Prediction – Czech Republic (Win)

The Czech Republic has been impressive in the tournament so far and will be coming into this game full of confidence, after a 91-76, win over Turkey. Turkey almost beat the USA the other day and the Czechs win over them is significant.
Brazil has been a surprise packet in the tournament so far and are yet to drop a game. Their win over Greece 79-78 being the standout. Brazil is playing good basketball, but fatigue may come into play with 5 players all over the age of 35. Can they keep up the form with so many games being played? It will be interesting, but fatigue may play a part deeper in the tournament.
The Czech win over Turkey is convincing and if they bring that sort of form into this game they should get the win.
Brazil has averaged 170 total points in their matches, and the majority of their games go over the number. Expect this game to be a little higher scoring.
France vs Lithuania
Prediction – Lithuania (Win)
Game Total Over 152.5
Two European Powerhouses go at it in what is a must-win game for the Lithuanian side.
The Lithuanians are coming off an 87-82 loss to the Australian’s, and the French have not been tested, beating the Dominican Republic 90-56, and Jordan 64-103.
With the lack of quality competition, the French may come into this game a little sluggish, which can happen after easy victories.
Both sides have a lot of talent, but Lithuania need the win to stay alive and they will more than likely do so as the underdogs. They have two big men to contain Rudy Gobert from France, and if they can stop Evan Fournier from hitting the three ball, they should get the win.
Both sides have averaged 155 and 159 in all of their games and the Game Total number currently sits on 153.5. Expect it to go over the number.
USA vs Greece
Prediction – USA (Win)
Game Total Over 166.5
This matchup sees the NBA MVP take on a talented USA Outfit. We will probably see Giannis Antetokounmpo more active on the offensive end in this game as a win will go a long way in keeping the Greeks chances of staying in the competition alive.
Greece beat New Zealand 103-97 on Thursday and the USA smashed Japan 98-45.
It is hard to see such a talented USA team losing, but Greece has the best player in the World and will make it a good contest.
Expect the USA to come out firing and there to be plenty of scoring in this game. The Game Total is likely to go over the number.
