Both these sides cannot advance through to the final eight and will be playing for positions.
Venezuela is coming off an 87-67 loss to Argentina, and Russia had their chances, but lost 79-74, to Poland.
Not the most interesting when both sides cannot make it through, but this still should be an interesting game. The fact they cannot advance may mean a drop in defensive intensity and look for the Game Total to go over the number.
Russia is the better side and should win the match.
Puerto Rico vs Italy
Prediction – Italy (Win)

Another game where both sides will be playing for positioning as they cannot advance to the final 8 of the competition.
This may also mean a drop off in defensive intensity and the game total may go over the number.
Puerto Rico was no match for Serbia in their last game, losing 90-47 and Italy lost 67-60, to the Spanish team.
Puerto Rico can occasionally turn it on and may be a chance in this game, but Italy is better on paper and should win the match.
Poland vs Argentina
Prediction – Argentina (Win)

Poland has been the surprise packet of the tournament and this match is a battle for the top spot in Group I. Poland’s 79-74 win over Russia may just suggest that they can do some further damage in this tournament.
The opposition is now stronger and Argentina are experienced and know how to win on the big stage. They made easy work of Venezuela, 87-67 and also beat the Russians on Wednesday, 69-61.
With top spot up for grabs, both sides will bring it on the defensive end and the Game Total would be favoured to go under the number. Argentina should be too strong in this match and get the win.
Spain vs Serbia
Prediction – Serbia (Win)
Game Total Under 158.5
Two of the European Powerhouses go at it here in a battle for the top spot in Group J. This will be a European Blockbuster on day 9 between two of the Heavy Weights of European Basketball.
The Serbians have looked unstoppable so far and look like they might get a chance to play off for the Cup next week. They made easy work of Puerto Rico in their last game, winning it, 90-47.
Spain on the other hand always play well as a team and have won medals at big competitions for a reason. They are coming off a 67-60 win over Italy.
Both sides have a lot of NBA talent on the floor and this will be a great matchup to watch. The defensive intensity will be on and the Game Total just may go under the number.
Serbia has been the most impressive so far, but this game could go either way. Perhaps their two NBA Stars in Bogdan Bogdanovic and Nikola Jokic may step it up a notch and that may be enough to win their group.
