For the Breakers, we got to see the skills of young gun Hugo Besson, who led the team with 26 Points, and the ball was in his hands a lot in the closing stages.

Cairns Taipans vs Tasmania JackJumpers

Cairns 69 – Tasmania 62

(Taipans by 7 Points)

This was a big test for the Taipans at home, but they stepped up and managed to defeat and in-form JackJumpers side.

New Cairns Import Tahjere McCall has impressed so far and racked up 20 Points and 8 Rebounds in this encounter. The Taipans always seem to be in games when Kouat Noi hits his shots, and he was again a factor with 17 Points.

It was a low scoring affair in Cairns, but Tasmania’s Point Guard, Josh Magette, still filled the stats sheet with 19 Points, 6 Rebounds and 5 Assists.

Melbourne United vs South East Melbourne Phoenix

Melbourne 86 – South East Melbourne 94

(Phoenix by 8 Points)

The Phoenix were too good for United on a Sunday, and Mitch Creek threw down one of the dunks of the season so far.

Creek was good in the win and racked up similar stats to previous seasons with 16 Points, 7 Rebounds and 5 Assists. However, the most impressive player in this game was big man Zhou Qi for the Phoenix. He showed a lot of confidence around the bucket and racked up a double-double to go with a massive 7 Blocks.

Matthew Dellavedova impressed in this match, almost registering a double-double, and Joe Lual-Acuil was also good defensively with 7 rejections.

Adelaide 36ers vs New Zealand Breakers

Adelaide 98 – New Zealand 85

(36ers by 13 Points)

The Breakers got the early jump on the 36ers, but were outclassed in the second half.

In a dominant display, the 36ers outscored them 56-36 in the second half to run out comfortable winners.

Dusty Hannahs led the way with 25 Points, and Daniel Johnson was also productive on the offensive end with 22.

NBL Fantasy participants will like the productivity of Mitch McCarron as he racked up 13 Rebounds in the win as the NBL Fantasy scoring system rewards rebounding immensely.

The Breakers lost the match, but Hugo Besson was again impressive, and Will McDowell-White proved he can play the point guard spot.

(Bullets by 3 Points)

This was the match of the season so far, and the Bullets needed double-overtime to upset the Wildcats at home.

The Bullets had three stars in this clash, with Nathan Sobey, Lamar Patterson and Robert Franks having big games. Patterson came up big in the closing stages and hit some massive shots.
