The AFL has relocated the majority of the Victorian Teams to Queensland for the remainder of the season, and Sunday AFL sees three Games played including the Western Derby over in Perth.

A decent round of football so far with the defending champions the Richmond Tigers showing they can still play good footy without some stars and a massive win over the Kangaroos.

Here is a quick preview and some tips for the AFL Sunday Matches for July 19th 2020.

Port Adelaide – 3 Wins

Current Head to Head Odds

Last Week

The Blues probably had the win of the round and looked impressive against the Bulldogs to win their Round 6 Clash by 52 Points.

The Power had a massive test against the talented Giants outfit and managed to get the win by 17 points.

The Blues have gone into this match with no changes to their line-up from last week.

The Power lose Brad Ebert to Suspension, and their main Ruckman, Scott Lycett is out injured. They do welcome back young gun Xavier Duursma for this match.

Why the Blues Can Win

After watching the Blues defeat the Bulldogs last week, It may seem that they can probably match it with any team right now. Eddie Betts is looking lively up forward, and Sam Docherty has been a welcome addition to the team after a long absence through injury.

Their forwards turned around a disappointing performance to the Saints the week prior and if that form continues they are a chance in this match.

Why the Power Can Win

The Power have had just the one loss this season, and have looked dangerous in all their matches. Their healthy percentage shows that they are a force and the form of Big Forward Charlie Dixon has been few and far between in recent seasons.

The Power have a growing and emerging list and the long left foot boot of youngster Kane Farrell may prove a treat for Power Fans in coming seasons.

If they continue to provide good stable pressure off the ball and can stop Sam Docherty from dictating play down back, they will provide a lot of headaches for the Blues.

Prediction

Carlton was good last week, but the last time a side beat the Bulldogs that quickly, they got spanked the following week. The Power should be too strong in this one.

Our Pick – Port Adelaide (Win)

Fantasy Pick – Karl Amon + 62.5 Fantasy Points

Got injured in the early stages of last week, but still played out the match and ended up with 71 Fantasy Points. With Ebert out of the side, he may get more possessions as an outside mid.

Hawthorn Hawks vs Melbourne Demons

Last Meeting

Round 7 2019, Hawthorn 11.8 74 – Melbourne 11.13 79

(Melbourne by 5 Points)

Last 5 Meetings

Hawthorn – 2 Wins

Melbourne – 3 Wins

Current Head to Head Odds

Hawthorn – $1.80

Melbourne – $2.02

Last Week

The Hawks were disappointing in their clash against Collingwood and were outclassed to end up losing the match by 32 Points.

The Demons got back on the winner’s board with a 17 point win over the Gold Coast Suns.

The Hawks have had to make three changes because of injury for this clash and Ceglar, Puopolo and Patton will all miss. They do welcome back Shaun Burgoyne, Mitch Lewis and Darren Minchington.

The Demons have lost big forward Tom McDonald through injury, which may prove costly. Luke Jackson will replace him.

Why the Hawks Can Win

If there is one thing the Hawks have been consistent with in recent years, it has been the ability to get out of slumps and still win matches. Coach Clarkson will no doubt have a game plan set up for the Demons and still has some experienced players to utilize.

The Hawks rarely lose three matches in a row, and if the likes of Mitchell, O’Meara, Worpel and Wingard can have above-average games, they will be tough to beat.

Why the Demons Can Win

Their first win of the season against the Suns will give them confidence, but their disposal efficiency was still down at only 68%. They are not having any trouble getting the ball out of the middle, and if Max Gawn has an impact in the ruck, they are always a chance.

They just need a forward to fill the gap of losing Tom McDonald. The Demons have been pretty good against the Hawks in recent seasons with a couple of wins.

Prediction

The Hawks rarely lose 3 in a row, and they are the best pick for this match.

Our Pick – Hawthorn (Win)

Fantasy Pick – Jack Gunston + 61.5 Fantasy Points

Not in the best form, but racked up 62 last week. Has an average of 106 Fantasy points per game against the Demons in his last 3 games. Is due for a big one.

Fremantle Dockers vs West Coast Eagles

Last Meeting

Round 16 2019, Fremantle 2.19 31 – West Coast 19.8 122

(West Coast by 91 Points)

Last 5 Meetings

Fremantle – 0 Wins

West Coast – 5 Wins

Fact – West Coast has won the last 9 Matches against Fremantle.

Current Head to Head Odds

Fremantle – $3.30

West Coast – $1.34

Last Week

The Dockers got off to a poor start against the Saints last week and were down by 36 points in the early stages. They mounted a significant comeback and managed to beat the Saints by 6 points.

The Eagles took on a struggling Crows outfit and managed a 33 Point victory.

The Dockers have lost dual Brownlow Medalist Nat Fyfe for this clash, and the Eagles welcome back captain Luke Shuey.

Both sides will be glad to be home after a significant time away from home in Gold Coast Player Hub.

Why the Dockers Can Win

The Dockers have lost the last 9 Western Derbies during the most significant list rebuild in club history. They will be motivated to try and turn this around, although it will be tough without captain Nat Fyfe.

They are showing fight and spirit as a team and come up against an Eagles side that has been below its best. Maybe a chance if they get off to a fast start.

Why the Eagles Can Win

The Eagles welcome back Captain Luke Shuey and will be looking to extend their winning streak over the Dockers. They have won their last two matches and are beginning to show some form.

They have a significant advantage in the midfield for this game, and if Jack Darling and Josh Kennedy are in some form against a thin Dockers backline, it could be over fast.

Prediction

The Eagles are way better on paper and have the midfield advantage.

Our Pick – West Coast (Win)

Fantasy Pick – Jack Darling + 51.5 Fantasy Points

Has been pretty good against the Dockers in recent years with an average of 83.7 Fantasy Points. With the Dockers missing some key defenders he should have a field day if his confidence is up.
