Geelong vs Collingwood AFL Tips, Round 7
Thursday Night Football and for the first time in AFL History we have two prominent Victorian Clubs fighting for four points on Western Australian Soil.
Optus Stadium and Perth will begin to host AFL Sides with both WA Sides being able to play consecutive matches at home.
This particular match is shaping up as a blockbuster and a difficult one to pick the result. Wet conditions are expected in this encounter and the 30,000 seats that are allowed to be sold for this match have all but sold.
Not the best tipping form last week and the 2020 AFL Season continues to produce some surprising results.

Last Week
Geelong comes into this game after an impressive win against Brisbane in Sydney. They controlled the football and were first at most contests to prevail by 27 Points. The Cats have now won 3 straight, and their confidence would be continuing to grow.
Collingwood was too good for the Hawks after a 32 Point Victory last Friday Night. They were just too good and kept the Hawks on the back foot for the majority of the contest.
Why the Cats Can Win
The Cats were impressive in their match last week against Brisbane and after quarter-time dominated the contest. Their more experienced campaigners in Dangerfield and Selwood started getting their hands on the footy and made it tough for the Lions.
Conditions are more than likely going to be wet, and with the addition of a couple of runners in Jack Steven and WA boy Jordan Clark, it may prove valuable.
If they can control the Pies from getting a fast start, it will go a long way to winning this contest. Mitch Duncan and Quinton Narkle are out through injury for this one, but that didn’t stop them last week as both were out early.
Why the Magpies Can Win
The Magpies are coming off a decent win against the Hawks and welcome back two-star young players in Jordan De Goey and Josh Daicos.
They will have an advantage in the ruck for this game with Brodie Grundy a well more established ruckman than Darcy Fort. The wet weather may be an issue, but they are off to fast starts this season, and if that continues, the lead may be enough.
Prediction
The Cats were disappointing last time they had a big win, and although the wet conditions may favour them slightly, the Pies have the talent and will be used to playing on a ground the size of Optus Oval.
Our Pick – Collingwood (Win)
Fantasy Pick – Cam Guthrie + 69.5 Fantasy Points
This Geelong Midfielder may be given more of an offensive midfield role with Mitch Duncan out of the side. In a close scrappy affair, the wet conditions will suit his tackling ability, and he should cover his fantasy points line.
