The Quarter-Finals have begun and we saw a massive upset in the first quarter-final match, where Argentina upset Serbia 97-87.
The two matches today feature the USA playing France for a chance to take on Argentina. The other match features Australia taking on the Czech Republic, for a spot in the other Semi-Final match against Spain.

USA vs France
Prediction – USA (Win)

The USA has had some testing matches so far, but this will no doubt be their biggest test.
France is coming off a thrilling 100-98 point loss to Australia, in which their two shooters, Evan Fournier and Nando De Colo, scored 31 and 26 points respectively. They protected the ball well with just the 6 turnovers, but just couldn’t contain the Australian shooters.
The USA got passed Brazil with 89-73 thanks to 16 points from Kemba Walker and Myles Turner. They are looking pretty good, but will not want to take the French team lightly as they have some talented players and can score fast.
So far the USA has looked convincing in all, but one of their matches in which they managed to still beat Turkey 93-92, and are still undefeated.
France has looked pretty good in their tougher matches, beating Germany, Lithuania and being in the game the whole way against Australia.
This is a big match for the USA and expect them to crank up the defence and try and prevent the French shooters from so many open looks. The Game Total is favoured to go under the number.
The USA should win this match as they have the more talented team on paper, but France has Gobert, Fournier, Batum, Ntilikina and De Colo, who will be dangerous offensively and defensively.
Expect Kemba Walker and Donovan Mitchell to take the game on and be a little more aggressive offensively.
The USA should win this match, but it wouldn’t at all be surprising if the French team is right in it at the end.
Australia vs Czech Republic
Prediction – Australia (Win)

Australia comes into this match undefeated with wins over Canada, Senegal, Lithuania, Dominican Republic and France. They are playing good basketball and their recognized shooters in Patty Mills, and Joe Ingles are hitting shots.
The Czech Republic has lost the two matches so far, but managed to lose by a small enough margin to Greece to advance to the quarter-finals. Their other loss came to the USA, but 2 big wins against Turkey and Brazil would suggest this game could be close.
It is hard to see Aron Baynes from Australia hitting 5 triples again as he did against France, but the Australian side plays so well as a team, and they have 5 or 6 guys who have played a stack of International Basketball together over the years.
Expect the game to be tight defensively, which means the rather high Game Total could go under the number.
The Aussies shot the ball at 58% and 48% from the three-point line against France, and will need a similar shooting display to win this match.
Australia should win this game, but the Czech Republic will be tough and it is a massive chance to go right to the final whistle.
