Form so Far

Head to Heads – 8/8 = 100%

Game Totals – 7/8 = 87.5%

Canada vs Australia

Prediction – Australia (Win)

Gamer Total Under 167.5

These two sides met in Perth Australia a couple of weeks back and it was the Canadians who drew first blood 90-70, and then the Aussies took the second game 81-73.

With the Aussies defeating the USA for the first time, they will go in favourites with a few of their NBA Players playing some good basketball.

Kevin Pangos from Canada provided the Aussies with some headaches in the first warm-up game, whilst Khem Birch is a presence inside.

The Australians should win this game with a focus on defence and the game will more than likely be low scoring.

New Zealand vs Brazil

Prediction – Brazil (Win)

Game Total Over 165

Despite one big loss to the Canadians, the Kiwis have been in some pretty good form. Just the 1 win in the warm-up games, but a recent 81-85 loss to the talented French team will suggest they may be competitive in the World Cup.

Brazil Won 4 of the 5 warm-up games and have some experienced players that will help their cause to advance. Leandro Barbosa and Anderson Varejao have been around for a long time and will lead a fairly strong Brazil team.

Brazil should be too strong here and the game will more than likely be high scoring.

Dominican Republic vs Jordan

Prediction – Dominican Republic (Win)

Game Total Over 155.5

The Dominican has the one warm-up game win and it came against the host nation in China 87-72. Out of 9 Warm-up games, Jordan only managed the one win and it was also against China 84-72.

Both sides don’t have any big names in terms of NBA talent, but the Dominican will go in favourites and should get it done with the Game Total more than likely to go over.

Turkey vs Japan

Prediction – Turkey (Win)

Game Total Over 159.5

Turkey has been impressive in their warm-up games, winning 7 of 9 and have some very good NBA talent that will help them go a long way in the World Cup.

Ersan Ilyasova, Furkan Kormaz and Cedi Osman will make it tough for Japan and all three can shoot the ball. The Japanese do have Rui Hachmura, their first-ever NBA player and did upset Germany in a warm-up game 86-83.

Turkey looks too good on paper in this one and will probably get it done in a higher scoring match.

Senegal vs Lithuania

Prediction – Lithuania (Win)

Group H is being called the group of death and Australia, Canada, Lithuania and Senegal may all stake a claim here.

The Lithuanians are known to perform well on the big stage and have two NBA big men in Jonas Valanciunas and Damantos Sabonis.

They won 6 out of 8 during the warm-up games including a couple of narrow losses to Serbia.

Senegal won 3 out of 7 games including a 29 point win over Puerto Rico. They can be competitive but expect the talented Lithuanians to take out this one.

Greece vs Montenegro

Prediction – Greece (Win)

Game Total Over 150.5

Greece has won 7 out of 8 warm-up games and has the NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo.

They will be tough to beat with such a presence and will make it tough for Montenegro, who will be making their debut in the World Cup.

Montenegro does have the Orlando Magic big man Nikola Vucevic and he will provide a lot of offensive power, but they will need a lot of luck if they are to get passed Giannis and the Greeks. They did not win a game during the warm-up stage but will be competitive in the World Cup.

Greece will more than likely be too strong in a higher scoring game.

France vs Germany

Prediction – France (Win)

This one will be the match of the second day with a host of NBA talent on the floor.

France is favoured to go deep in the tournament and it has a lot to do with the names they have on their roster.

France feature, Rudy Gobert, Nicolas Batum, Frank Ntilikina and Evan Fournier and will provide plenty of headaches for whoever they play.

Germany, on the other hand, has Dennis Schroder who plays a lot of minutes in the NBA and Daniel Theis who knows how to score.

France won 6 out of 8 during the warm-up phase and Germany won 6 out of 7 of their warm-up games with the last being a 74-64, win over Australia.

The French just look too good on paper and should win this opening game for Group G.

Czech Republic vs the USA

Prediction – USA (Win)

Game Total Under 178.5

The USA lost a match to Australia in the warm-up series and will be out to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

It isn’t one of the strongest USA Teams on paper, but the likes of Kemba Walker and Donovan Mitchell will have no trouble taking the game on when it is on the line.

Won 3 out of 4 of their warm-up games and have looked ok so far.

The Czechs have won 6 out of 9 of their warm-up games and have looked pretty decent. Thomas Satoransky is their big-name player and they will be competitive in the tournament.

The USA should win and crank up the defence so the Game Total may go under.
