The Suns are on a short four day break for this clash after their 21 point loss to the Tigers on Monday Night.
For the Blues, they are coming off one of the greatest after the siren goals kicked in their 4 point win over the Dockers at Optus Stadium. It may have been controversial, but Jack Newnes had nerves of steel to drill home the game-winner from a tough angle.
A few changes for the Suns for this clash with Brayden Fiorini, Nick Holman and Alex Sexton all getting the chop. Jarrod Harbrow, Sean Lemmens and David Swallow all come back into the team.
For the Blues, Matthew Kennedy is out injured, and Josh Honey has been omitted. Jack Martin is a welcome return as well as Ruckman Marc Pittonet.
Current Head to Head Odds
Gold Coast – $2.60
Carlton – $1.50
Prediction
This is a challenging game to pick, as there are a few factors that may influence the result. Conditions in Marrara are expected to be humid for this clash, and the Gold Coast Suns are coming off a four-day break so fatigue may become a factor.
Jack Martin will provide the Blues with some quality run and carry for this clash, and they need a ruckman in Marc Pittonet so that the changes will help the Blues. David Swallow also helps the midfield presence of the Gold Coast Suns.
Probably going to lean towards the Blues and their midfield to get it done in this one. If Cripps and Curnow can keep the good form up and deliver the footy to some of the big Cartlon Forwards, they should be too strong.
Our Pick – Carlton (Win)
Player Prop – Sam Docherty + 73.5 Fantasy Points
The Suns can be prone to give up possessions to opposition backs, and Docherty racked up 70 Last week and has a season average of 76.3. Is due for a big match statistically and may find some cheap disposals on the back half.
