Western Bulldogs vs Melbourne Demons
Last Meeting
Round 17 2019, Western Bulldogs 10.14 74 – Melbourne 9.12 66
(Western Bulldogs by 8 Points)
Last 5 Meetings
Western Bulldogs – 2 Wins
Melbourne – 3 Wins
Fact – Melbourne’s last three wins against the Bulldogs have been by an average of 52 Points.
Last Round
On the back of a substantial individual performance from Marcus Bontempelli, the Bulldogs were able to boost their percentage with a massive 57 point win over the lowly Crows.
The Demons were also impressive without their Ruckman, Max Gawn and managed to knock off Collingwood by 56 Points.
The Bulldogs have made four changed for this clash with Rhylee West Injured and Bailey Dale, Sam Lloyd and Roarke Smith all being rested.
The Demons are going into this clash with an unchanged lineup.
Current Head to Head Odds
Western Bulldogs – $1.77
Melbourne – $2.10
Prediction
The Demons started as favourites for this match, but the Dogs have come in as the favourites this morning. Both sides are coming off big wins last week, and it will be interesting to see how they back it up.
Even though Max Gawn is out for this contest, Braydon Preuss is in, and the Bulldogs leak the most amount of points to ruckman in the AFL. When the Demons were playing good football a couple of years ago, they had no trouble against the Bulldogs, and if they can win the midfield battle and make the most of their chances, they should win the match.
The Dogs have a habit of not backing up good performances and did play the Crows last week. Going to pick the Demons based on their current form.
Our Pick – Melbourne (Win)
Player Prop – Jack Macrae + 94.5 Fantasy Points
The Demons give up quite a few fantasy points to opposition mids, and there is nobody better in the league that knows how to get cheap stats in the middle. Should get close to 100 in this clash.
Port Adelaide Power vs Hawthorn Hawks
Last Meeting
Round 10, 2019 Hawthorn 12.8 80 – Port Adelaide 6.13 49
(Hawthorn by 31 Points)
Last 5 Meetings
Port Adelaide – 2 Wins
Hawthorn – 3 Wins
Last Round
The Power were very disappointing in their 60 point loss to the Cats last week. They were outplayed and will be looking to rectify some of the errors from previous week.
The Hawks were no match for the Eagles last week in Perth and lost the game by 32 Points.
Lots of changes for both sides for this match with the Power losing Dan Houston and Peter Ladhams to Suspension. Xaver Duursma and Kane Farrell have been omitted. They welcome back Brad Ebert, Riley Bonner, Jarrod Lienert and Justin Westhoff.
Too many to get through for the Hawks with six outs and four being significant. James Sicily, Jaeger O’Meara, Jack Gunston and James Frawley all out for this match. Not too many key ins, but Jon Patton and Tom Scully both get another go at senior football.
Current Head to Head Odds
Port Adelaide – $1.14
Hawthorn – $6
Prediction
No need to think too hard about this game with the Hawks having a lot of significant outs for this match. The Power should control this match, and Charlie Dixon or another Power forward may have a big day.
Our Pick – Port Adelaide (Win)
Player Prop – Boyd Woodcock 1+ Goals
The Hawks are thin in terms of talent for this clash, and the Power should get plenty of inside 50s. Woodcock has looked dangerous up forward this year and should get a lot of goal scoring chances.
Essendon Bombers vs Richmond Tigers
Last Meeting
Round 10 2019, Richmond 10.13 73 – Essendon 6.14 50
(Richmond by 23 Points)
Last 5 Meetings
Richmond – 5 Wins
Essendon – 0 Wins
Last Round
The Tiger were too good for the Suns on Monday Night, winning the match by 21 points on the back of a solid game from Captain Trent Cotchin.
The Bombers continue to play inconsistent football and were no match for the Saints losing by 35 Points.
The Bombers have made a staggering seven changes for this clash with a host of players getting dropped including, Shaun McKernan and Connor McKenna. Some of the key ins include Jake Stringer, Devon Smith and Irving Mosquito will make his AFL Debut.
The Tigers have made one change with Nathan Broad being omitted and the welcome return of Bachar Houli.
Current Head to Head Odds
Essendon – $5
Richmond – $1.19
Prediction
Despite the fact that the Bombers have some key ins for this clash, that many changes to a list is never a good sign going into a match. They come up against a Richmond side that welcomes back their play maker on the defensive end, and the Tigers should get it done here.
Our Pick – Richmond (Win)
Player Prop – Andrew McGrath + 76.5 Fantasy Points
Merrett and Shiel may get some more attention in this clash and McGrath seems to push 80 Points each week with a season average of 81.7. Should be around this number even if he has a quieter game.
Fremantle Dockers vs Sydney Swans
Last Meeting
Round 18 2019 Fremantle 7.10 52 – Sydney 7.9 51
(Fremantle by 1 Point)
Last 5 Meetings
Fremantle – 2 Wins
Sydney – 3 Wins
Last Round
The Dockers led most of their clash against the Blues last Saturday Night, only to fall in the dying stages to a goal from Carlton Midfielder, Jack Newnes by 4 Points.
The Swans surprised the football world with their 41 point victory over the Swans despite having 19 less inside 50s.
The Dockers have made one change for this clash with Brett Bewley out of the team and Liam Henry making his AFL Debut.
For the Swans, they welcome back their best inside midfielder Josh Kennedy and Key Defender Dayne Rampe is out of the side injured.
Current Head to Head Odds
Fremantle – $1.56
Sydney – $2.50
Prediction
This is a tough game to predict as the Swans were very surprising last week against the Giants, and the Dockers have also been unpredictable this season.
The addition of Josh Kennedy to the Swans Midfield will be welcoming and if they can win the football and give Reid and Papley enough chances against a thin Dockers backline, they are every chance. The loss of Rampe may not prove as significant as first projected against Fremantle as Matt Taberner is the only real threat up there.
The Swans were too good last week against a quality side and should be right in this.
Our Pick – Sydney (Win)
Player Prop – Sam Reid 1+ Goals
The Dockers are thin down back right now, and Reid can take a mark. Should get a lot of chances in this clash to score a goal.
