Last Week

The Demons were pretty good in their match against the Lions with their midfield getting their hands on the football. They went down by 4 points in the end.

Port Adelaide may be starting to become a little complacent and were disappointing in their 29 Point loss to a spirited Saints side.

Short Breaks have now become a thing in the shortened AFL Season with Melbourne on a 4-day break and the Power on a 5-day break.

The Demons welcome back Tom McDonald for this clash, and Tom Sparrow gets another chance at Senior Football. Harley Bennell has been managed and Neville Jetta Omitted.

For the Power, Jarrod Lienert and Tom Rockliff come into the side at the expense of the injured Todd Marshall, and Riley Bonner has been dropped.

Current Head to Head Odds

Melbourne – $2.35

Port Adelaide – $1.60

Prediction

Both sides are coming off a short break, but Melbourne has only been four days which may have an impact after a tough match against the Lions.

The Power were disappointing against the Saints but should be able to things around for this match at the Gabba. They lost the hit outs and clearances last week, and Pat Ladhams will again have his hands full coming up against big Max Gawn.

It is hard to be confident picking the Demons because they are still struggling with efficiency going forward and the Power has been excellent in that area. The Power has won the last two against the Demons and should be too good in this match with their midfield and talented forwards.

Our Pick – Port Adelaide (Win)

Player Prop – Tom Rockliff + 19.5 Disposals

Rockliff will be hungry for the football after an extended break and racked up 44 disposals the last time these two sides met.
