The 2020 NBA All-star game kicks off this week in Chicago and there are quite a few events to look forward to.
The NBA All-star game starts on Friday Night with the USA Team taking on the World Allstars in the rookies and sophomores challenge.
On Saturday Night of the 2020 NBA All-star game, we will be treated to the Skills Challenge, 3 Point Comp and Dunk Comp.
Then on Sunday Team Lebron, will take on Team Giannis, to decide the winner of the 2020 NBA All Star Game.

Team USA vs World All Stars
Prediction – Team USA (Win)
With Team USA struggling during the basketball world cup last year they will be out to prove that the USA is still number one when it comes to hoops.
They have some real stars in their side including Trae Young, Zion Williamson, Ja Morant and Devonte Graham. The World team has Luka Doncic and Deandre Ayton, but will they have the motivation to beat the USA Team?
Expect a lot of buckets, minimal defence and the USA team to win this one.
Skills Challenge
Prediction – Spencer Dinwiddie
An interesting lineup here with a mix of smalls and talls to compte. Jason Tatum is back to try and defend his title but did get rather lucky last year.
Expect Spencer Dinwiddie to show off his skills and will be a hot favourite to take out this one.
3 Point Comp
Prediction – Davis Bertnans and Duncan Robinson
There are some good shooters in this including Joe Harris who will be looking to defend his title. He is not shooting as well as previous seasons and leaves the door wide open for some new contenders.
Davis Bertans is a fantastic shooter and shooting the ball at 42.4% this season. He has a great jump shot and can get in some real rhythm.
Ducan Robinson is shooting the ball at 43.8% this season and looks like he can get on a roll here. He dropped 10 threes in a game earlier in the year and is a huge chance to take out the title.
Guys that don’t jump a lot or shoot the ball flat tend to go well in the 3 Point Comp.
Although he only shoots the ball at 36.9% from the three this season it brings Trae Young right into it. He doesn’t really jump and will have a lot of energy in the latter racks.
Buddy Hield may also be a sneaky chance as well as former winner Devin Booker. It’s hard to see Zach Lavine or Devonte Graham doing too well here given they have different styles to most of the former winners.
Slam Dunk Comp
Prediction – Aaron Gordan and Derrick Jones Jnr
We all know what Aaron Gordan can do and have seen Derrick Jones in the dunk comp before.
It’s hard to see the Novelty that is Dwight Howard pulling out any more tricks and Pat Connaughton doesn’t get high enough to throw down anything too special.
Derrick Jones Jnr is a massive chance if he pulls off any of the difficult dunks he may try. Can jump the highest although former winners are normally crowd favs.

Team Lebron vs Team Giannis
Looking at Team Lebron on paper and it almost seems impossible that they can lose this.
In a game with no defence, it is always possible, but names like Lebron, Leonard, Davis, Harden, Doncic and Westbrook and we have a dominant outfit.
Team Giannis is also stacked and maybe a guy like Trae Young or Jimmy Butler may decide to put on a show and challenge team LeBron.
It’s shaping up an exciting All-Star Weekend and should be another one for the ages.
