On the 29th December 2010, the Kings played the Grizzlies and one of the most excellent Game Winning Shots in NBA History took place.

Tyreke Evans was in his second season in the NBA after being drafted by the Sacramento Kings with the 4th Overall Pick in the 2009 NBA Draft.

After a sensational Rookie Season with a Points Average of 20.1 PPG, Evans was fast becoming one of the main players on the Kings Lineup and one of their go-to guys when the game was on the line.

Tyreke Evans played just the one season of College Basketball for the Memphis Tigers in which he averaged 17.1 PPG and was one of the stars on the team. His good College form resulted in him being a top draft pick and the 4th overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft.

The thing with Evans is that he’s best-ever NBA Season in terms of Statistics, is still his Rookie Year, and he has never really lived up to the hype, although has played some fantastic games throughout his NBA Career including the Tyreke Evans Buzzer Beater.

Tyreke will always be remembered for throwing down some huge NBA Dunks and has one of the more Memorable NBA Game Winners in NBA History.

The Tyreke Evans Buzzer Beater

It was late December of 2010, and the Memphis Grizzlies were taking on the Sacramento Kings at the Golden 1 Center.

Some of the better players in this match were a young DeMarcus Cousins with 21 Points and Beno Udrih with 24 Ponts for the Kings. Evans also notched up 21 Points, and three of those will always be remembered for Sacramento Kings Fans.

For the Grizzlies Zach Randolph had a great game and led the way for Memphis with 35 Points.

With 5.5 Seconds left the Grizzlies had Possession of the Basketball and inbounded to O.J. Mayo who took a couple of dribbles and landed a fadeaway shot from just inside the three-point line to give the Grizzlies a one point lead.

There were 1.5 Seconds left, and The Kings inbounded the ball to Tyreke Evans who took one dribble and put up a shot from just over halfway and the rest is history. The Shot went straight through the hoop and gave the Kings a 100-98 Victory over the Memphis Grizzlies.

The ball hit the back of the rim, and the Sacramento Crowd went nuts.

The commentator shouted out “oh my goodness”, and this remains one of the great NBA Game Winners of the modern era.

“If you don’t like that, you don’t like NBA Basketball,” says the commentator.
