Friday Night Football – Bulldogs vs Giants

After an upset result on Thursday Night where the Hawks managed to beat the Tigers by 32 Points, we head into Friday Night Football in which two sides will be looking to bounce back after significant losses in Round 2.

The Western Bulldogs host the Greater Western Sydney Giants at Marvel Stadium in what could see one of those clubs fighting to stay alive for the season. An 0-3 start would make it tough for the Bulldogs with a shortened season, and they would probably have to win at least 9 out of their last 14 games to perhaps have a shot at playing finals.

Here is a quick preview and prediction of the Friday Night Football clash between the Bulldogs and Giants in the Australian Football League.

Both sides made some changes to their lineups after poor performances last week. The Bulldogs welcome back a couple of more experienced campaigners in Tom Liberatore, and Toby Mclean and the Giants have lost one of their best forwards Toby Greene to Injury.

Both sides will be looking to improve on last weeks poor performances.

Why the Bulldogs can Win

The Bulldogs come into this match after an abysmal performance and a loss against the Saints last week. They have been average in their first two games of the season and do not look like the majority of the players are on the same page out on the football field. This was highlighted when one of the young Bulldogs players ignored the Captain on a forward thrust for an easy handpass and direct run in on goal, against the Saints.

The Bulldogs have made some changes to their lineup, and that should help as they do still have some great players that can get it done.

Coach Luke Beverage has been known to surprise on the odd occasion and would fancy himself to turn their poor form around. If Tim English can find some form in the Ruck and tap it to some of the more fancied Bulldogs Midfielders, they may start getting some confidence back and be a chance in this contest.

Why the Giants Can Win

The Giants were beaten by a hungry Kangaroos team last week and will be out to prove they are still a premiership contender. The loss of Toby Greene is significant, but they still have the talent on all areas of the football field to kick goals and stop the opposition on the offensive and defensive end.

Some of the Giants star players had very average games last week, and if they get some of their confidence back, they will be tough to stop.

Prediction

Both sides were unconvincing last week, but the Bulldogs simply looked like a team that is struggling to connect out on the footy field at the moment. The Giants have too much talent to play two poor games in a row.
